An Introduction to Safe Prescribing for General Internal Medicine

An inappropriate prescription is a frequent source of adverse events so it is important to understand the principles of safe prescribing for your specialty.

This course covers the elements of safe and appropriate prescribing and how you can incorporate these elements into the practice of General Medicine.

You will learn about safe prescribing, adverse drug reactions, risk management and legislation related to prescribing in Ireland.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course you will be better prepared to prescribe the right dose of the right drug for the right diagnosis to the right patient at the right time and via the right route.
