The Institute of Medicine is pleased to launch a new webinar series entitled The Acute Medicine Series which will present a monthly webinar discussing topics relevant to the acute physician in specialties across the spectrum of medicine.
We are delighted to present this live webinar, Hot Topics in Respiratory Medicine, as part of this series. Presented jointly by the Institute of Medicine and the Irish Thoracic Society this webinar will provide a general medicine update for general physicians dealing with acute respiratory issues.
This live webinar is available to Members and Fellows of RCPI, doctors on RCPI training programmes, doctors on RCPI Professional Competence Schemes, all other interested physicians working in medicine, or indeed outside of medicine and members of the Irish Thoracic Society.
About this event
Hot Topics in Respiratory Medicine will be broadcast live as a webinar and is an opportunity to hear updates on topics such as COPD and tuberculosis.
The event will be chaired by Professor Anthony O'Regan, Dean of the Institute of Medicine at RCPI and Dr Aidan O'Brien, President of the Irish Thoracic Society, and is hosted by Professor Mary Horgan, President of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.

A link to these online recordings has been shared with all postgraduate medical training bodies in Ireland.

To join this webinar on Zoom you will need a computer (Windows or Apple) or mobile device with internet access and speakers.
If you're joining the webinar on a computer you can use the Zoom desktop website. You do not need to download the Zoom app - if you see a pop up message about the app, you can dismiss this.
The Zoom website functions best on Google Chrome.
When you click on the link for "Join the Live Webinar" you will see a message asking you to open Zoom. Click on “Open Zoom”.
You will then be asked for your name and email address. Once you’ve entered these details, click on “Join Webinar”.
If you're watching the webinar on a mobile device you will need to download the Zoom app. To save time on the day, we recommend downloading the app in advance:
When you open the Zoom app click on “Join a Meeting”. You will need to enter the meeting ID number. The ID number for this week's event will be sent to you via email beforehand.
