Health Economics

CPD Credits3

An online introduction to the health economics landscape in Ireland

Suitable for all doctors with an interest in health economics

Health Economics aims to inform decision-makers so that the choices they make maximise the health benefits of the population. It is not concerned with saving money but with maximising the health of the population within the available resources.

In Ireland, the decisions of the Government and Health Service Executive are impacted by several external economic factors, and we will explore some of them here to understand the conditions in which decisions must be made.

This course will provide you with a foundational understanding of economic concepts as they apply to healthcare.
