CHO Collaborative

The CHO Collaborative is a bespoke quality improvement (QI) programme jointly developed by National Quality Improvement Team, HSE and RCPI.

A QI collaborative is a short-term learning system that brings together teams from different hospital sites to seek improvement in a specific subject area.

Subject matter experts work together with improvement experts, using quality improvement methodology to implement changes at the front line of healthcare.

The collaborative will provide teams with QI and patient safety skills. You and your team will use this training to tackle a specific problem area of your choice and complete a QI project within your healthcare setting. Our expert faculty will guide you through the process of developing a project plan, engaging with stakeholders, measuring for improvement and communicating your results.

Collaboratives are an excellent opportunity for frontline clinical teams to learn about QI tools and methods while implementing real change in the workplace, sharing and learning from peers and experts and developing lifelong improvement skills.

What you will learn

When you join this collaborative, each team will work with expert faculty to:

  1. Gain knowledge and skills in quality improvement
  2. Consider ways of optimising the processes or pathways of care delivery in your setting
  3. Utilise your improvement skills in the workplace, gathering valuable practical experience
  4. Consider capacity and sustainability of quality improvement initiatives

Your gateway to a growing quality improvement network

The healthcare quality movement in Ireland continues to grow in strength thanks to an enthusiastic, rapidly expanding network.

When you complete the programme, you will join our vibrant network of QI graduates, who regularly collaborate with the wider quality improvement movement in Ireland and internationally to share knowledge, insights and experiences - all in the best interests of patients and quality of care.
