Specially developed for HST in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, this course covers scenarios that you might encounter in an emergency situation in labour wards.

On completion of this course, you will have practiced and improved your competencies in the following labour ward emergencies:

• Maternal collapse and Postpartum Haemorrhage
• Full dilatation c section with head impacted
• Operative vaginal delivery – forceps
• Operative vaginal delivery – Ventouse
• Cervical Cerclage

What to expect

This one-day course is a hands-on simulation workshop with opportunities to practice and receive feedback. The course will take place at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), Dublin 2. 

Simulation equipment and material is provided.

This course is mandatory for 1st and 2nd year HST Trainees.
