Master the art of laparoscopic gynaecological surgery

This is a practical, hands-on, one-day course covering essential aspects of laparoscopic gynaecological surgery, including the management of complications associated with viscera and vasculature.

We will help you develop a better understanding of the anatomical relationships within the pelvis. You will learn how to manage common problems encountered in surgery, such as patients with previous surgery, known adhesions and significant obesity. You will learn about potential complications that can arise from laparoscopic surgery and how best to prevent and manage them.

The emerging disciplines of surgical ergonomics and human factors as they relate to surgery will also be covered.

What to expect

This one-day course is a multimodal educational programme featuring lectures, interactive discussions, videos, simulation training and cadaveric models.

This course is mandatory for Higher Specialist Training (years 3 - 5) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
