The event will explore the wider context of child health and illness, including the impacts of a child’s social circumstances, perinatal mental health, and adverse childhood experiences, and the role of Paediatricians and other health professionals in addressing those impacts on lifelong health and wellbeing.
This webinar will be chaired by Dr Siobhan Gallagher, Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in Neurodisability at University Hospital Limerick and Prof Clodagh O’Gorman, Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in Diabetes and Endocrinology at University Hospital Limerick and Professor of Paediatrics at The School of Medicine, University of Limerick.

Dr Siobhán Neville is a Consultant General Paediatrician at University Hospital Limerick and Senior Lecturer in Paediatrics at University of Limerick School of Medicine. She has a Masters in Quality and Safety in Healthcare Management from the RCSI and completed a Fellowship in Paediatric Hospital Medicine at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. Her clinical and research interests focus on Inclusion Paediatrics, a developing area that addresses the specific health needs of children from underserved and marginalised populations, and the impacts of the social determinants of health.
Dr Mas Mahady Mohamad MRCPI MRCPsych is a Consultant Psychiatrist with the Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Team in University Maternity Hospital Limerick. He is a member of the Specialist Perinatal Mental Health National Oversight and Implementation Group and part of the Editorial board responsible for the development of national patient leaflets and a national information app. A graduate of University College Cork, he is passionate about promoting the importance of perinatal and public mental health. His current research interests include the use of art and music in the management of pregnancy-related anxiety.
Dr Aisling O’Riordan is a General Paediatrician in University Hospital Limerick with a special interest in Child Protection and Advocacy. Aisling graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and completed Paediatric training through the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. During this time, she became the first Paediatric trainee to gain membership of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine (UK). Following CSCST Aisling undertook a Clinical Fellowship in Child Maltreatment Paediatrics at the Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect Department, of the Hospital of Sick Children, Toronto.
